First and Second Year Students OUTREACH: HAPAGASA FEEDING PROGRAM
OBJECTIVES:
1. Spread the Christian Spirit of SHARING AND LOVING to our neighbors as demonstrated in the Miracle of the Multiplication of loaves and fishes
2. Alleviate hunger of poor and malnourished children and improve their nutritional status
3. Provide parents with basic knowledge and skills in ensuring the well-being of their children even after the 6-month feeding
It will be held at SJA Grade School Canteen. Please see attached schedule. Below are other details for the said program.
TARGET CHILDREN/BENEFECIARIES:
0-12 years old with priority for younger age group (3-6 y.o)/ underweight pregnant women
TYPE OF MEAL:
Lunch or heavy merienda
SUPPLEMENT:
Vitameal, mixture of rice and lentil
MANPOWER:
St. Joseph Parish, First and Second Year Students of St. Joseph’s Academy, LGU, civic organizations and other volunteers, parents of participating kids
BENEFITS OF HAPAGASA FOR THE CHILDREN/BENEFICIARIES:
1. Integrated Nutrition Program
a. Supplemental feeding for selected children who are either
malnourished or underweight
b. Emphasis on supplemental feeding only and NOT replacement
c. Education for mothers and child caregivers
2. Nutritious food 5X a week for 6 months
3. Deworming
4. Vitamins
5. Other available health services
